All students in Yr7 at Somervale School went to Bristol Activity Centre with their tutor group, tutor and Assistant Head of Colleges during the last week of term in October.

The purpose of the trip was to allow each tutor group to ‘gel’ as a team and experience taster sessions in a number of outdoor adventurous activities: team building, climbing, abseiling, mountain biking and orienteering. 

Many students worked exceptionally well as a team and solved many challenging tasks. As you can see from the photos, some were rather hilarious and involved getting very wet! Several students were also able to face their fears and step out of their ‘comfort zone’ to achieve personal satisfaction. 

The 3 days proved to be a great success and all students had a great day. Many thanks to the instructors at Bristol Activity Centre for their hard work and commitment.                                                                                                            Miss Parsons
